I have had this thought rolling around in my head all week.
No experience is ever wasted
Perhaps you are in a situation right now where you feel totally stuck in some sort of big holding pattern. Maybe you have been circling the airport for hours and STILL don’t have clearance to land. Nothing is happening professionally or personally. You just feel out of sorts or frustrated. Maybe it is your family or perhaps your job is difficult. It could be any number of things, but nothing feels right.
I want to tell you a little secret. God uses it all, even the bad stuff. Let me give you an example. This is definitely a 1st world problem, but my computer has gotten progressively slower and more contrary over time (sort of like me). I was getting way too many spinning wheels of doom. I had put off reformatting the computer and reinstalling everything from DVDs and backups. Not my idea of fun, but here is the thing: during a difficult part of my professional journey, I was reduced to maintaining macs in the art department I was in, along with tracking all the software and photo purchases. There were very few design opportunities.
I felt marginalized, underused, and underappreciated. It was a struggle. But you know what? Now that I am self employed, being familiar with this sort of thing allowed me to get it done with minimal cost and very little pain. Maybe the Lord knew I would need to know how to do this down the road? Perhaps He even chuckled to see the light finally come on in my head!
So remember that what ever situation you are in, it is up to you to allow it to not be wasted! Hang in there!
